My favourite quote and how they have influenced me

“Do what you feel in your heart to be right–for you’ll be criticized anyway.”
Eleanor Roosevelt

I love this quote as it speaks so much truth, when you do something you don’t believe in and end up failing or being criticised it is devastating so as long as you do what you believe is right at least you have that if all fails and hopefully you will succeed and do it based on your own thoughts and ideas, a truly brilliant quote from a brilliant woman.

“Leaders aren’t born they are made. And they are made just like anything else, through hard work. And that’s the price we’ll have to pay to achieve that goal, or any goal.”
Vince Lombardi

We often thing leaders are just born like that and ignore all the hard work they have been though to reach their goals, this can lead to resentment rather that the inspiration we should draw from it that we too can reach our goals with hard work and dedication.

“Imagination is more important than knowledge.”
Albert Einstein

This quote is key in many disciplines because it speaks of one truth, knowledge can only get you to where others have been, without imagination you will never discover a new idea and never produce anything original. Many people miss this and spend their lives doing nothing but rehashing old ideas which I find quite depressing.

“Don’t find fault, find a remedy.”
Henry Ford

It is so easy to criticise and although it may make some people feel better and give others the impression that they are doing something about it or they know an alternative but often they don’t. Finding a solution is a much better option and what defines a good leader.

“The greatest lesson in life is to know that even fools are right sometimes”
Winston Churchill

This one is important because often we view people bellow us and ignore their ideas without proper consideration when everyone has a good idea sometimes and the smartest person is not always right. I’ve been proved wrong enough times by people I really didn’t think knew better and learning to give everyone ideas proper thought has been a great change.

“A leader is a dealer in hope.”
Napoleon Bonaparte

Give people hope and they will follow you, be a positive person a positive role model and you friends family colleagues will be drawn to you, this has helped me in my relationships by being positive and building people up rather then tearing them down with negativity.
